
The Office of the Federal Public Defender for the District of Vermont is dedicated to the defense of indigent persons charged with federal offenses. The Federal Public Defender is authorized and funded pursuant to the Criminal Justice Act, or CJA, 18 USC ยง 3006A, et seq. The District of Vermont includes all fourteen of the state's counties. District Court locations are found in the cities of Burlington, Brattleboro, and Rutland. As a family member or friend of our client, you may be asked to write a Letter of Support . Letters of Support are submitted by the attorney of our client, along with a Sentencing Memorandum.
